FFS what is it with me an amps. The Marantz seems to have developed a fault on the left channel power section. Outputting just static even with 0 volume. I am cursed it seems. Contacted retailer awaiting their customer service team to get back, likely Monday. Not a happy camper. At least I have my office setup.

Can’t bring myself to :heart: that, particularly after the trouble you had last time.

Peter Tyson very good, just got a call they will pick it up Monday and they will ship it to Denon/Marantz repair centre. As it’s past 30 days no replacement.

That’s a PITA. I hope they sort it quickly. However, since it’s fairly new you should go direct to the retailer and ask for a repair or replacement–your contract is with them.

Quote the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a state your preference for a replacement. Also note that for items less than six months old, it is presumed that the fault was already present, and it is the their responsibility to prove otherwise.

I did, as it’s past 30 days it’s a repair. As long as it’s sorted I’m ok.

Found a NM copy of Bark At The Moon :metal:

Well the arcam was there with less gaps for 10 years or so no issues and that thing pumps out heat. Marantz and NAD had plenty of space to breathe and Naim was also fine. Not the mains.

Both amps have had very different faults too. The NAD is known for its failure rate, I found this out after number 2. I was not alone with that unit failing. Marantz however is rare dealer was pretty surprised.

@Simon_Arnold3
That’s a pain, hope they get it sorted swiftly, will the dealer not lend you an amp while you are waiting?
I know mine would in a heart beat.

@Michael_Harris , enjoy your retirement, that will be a hell of a long retirement, retiring at 55 years old, that could be 30+ years . You will need quite a few albums to fill that gap :wink:

I bought it online they are in North East, I am in London

I see, I prefer to buy from a flesh and blood dealer rather than by mail order tbh.
The only time I have not done so is when I bought my MBL speakers , Importers/dealers are based in Glasgow and I am in H&W, but even then , they sent me speakers to demo before I bought new.

@Michael_Harris, I must have missed your post. Enjoy your retirement; retiring at 57 was one of the best decisions I ever made.
