I spent some of my youth in Downey California, got the chance to hang out with Richard a couple of times at the building where his car collection is located. He’s a big Mopar fan, such a nice person eager to share his collection with a couple of goofball teenagers

You’re so lucky to have some interaction with Richard. He seems such a genuine person/character.
The thing is, what people don’t realise is that although Karen was the ‘voice’ behind The Carperters, Richard was the genius behind the mixing desk, and the production process for all their recordings.
For example, Richard was responsible for mixing the M/C of the SACD I’m listening to right now. And it’s bloody good!

Perhaps oddly music never came up, I wasn’t going to be the one bring it up due to the timing of Karen’s passing. We were just drooling over the HEMI Cuda, 57 Chevy, and Cosworth Vega among many older Chrysler products. Just a gear head thing really.

That album version makes me want to go get a TT. However, since the TT I gave my daughter is now in college, I’m gonna find a used serviceable phono pre and get that sucker hooked up into my rig. You can’t stop me.
It only seems to last 3 months. In Europe our seasons are legendary and last for 13 months each year.

Good music is good music regardless of genre.
On one occasion, after what seemed like an age waiting for her to make up her mind in a shop, I managed to stun my wife into complete silence by singing along to Woman In Love (Streisand) while wearing a Slayer t shirt!
