It’s strange - it just stays forever the same like in the screenshot in the above posting. When I do a reload in the browser I get to see this in settings:
Generally I think it was a failure in the iFi software and infrastructure when it happened before. As when they introduced newer versions they were fine.
OK good news as a start at least it has updated.
Remember that Roon only mode goes to SPDIF as default , and you need to click on the Info button in the Audio Settings to switch it to USB.
Put it it into AIO mode first and get it all working and then switch it to Roon Only mode once you have everything working well.
I got SPDIF
Forgot that I have to activate it in the ROON settings first.
So finally there is music now.
Though one very critical thing is missing: room correction. The convolution filter is no longer there:
Marcus good news.
You add them again in Roon and load them from the file.
They are endpoint specific so stick to the endpoint you add them too.
If you can find the files just add them in DSP and off you go.
Their firmware patching needs some smoothing out. Still nothing as bad as a HP ROMPaq. Once updated it works exceptionally well, has great visual queues to see what format is playing and once flashed Just Works ™.
I was going to suggest the beta option as well, but when I had that problem early on I changed my ZS’s DNS settings to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1), but Google would also work just as well (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4). I have no idea whether the device has its own DNS configuration when set to “auto”—but mine wasn’t playing well with my ISP. As soon as I set the custom settings, I never had a problem again.
Honestly, 2.31.8 fixes the MQA LED colors and I’m pretty sure nothing else. It’s perfectly stable—I don’t have a clue why they haven’t declared it as such all these months later.
