NUC8i7 vs NUC10i7

What is the speed difference between Generation 8 and 10

Is there any Benchmark-comparsion?
I cannot find good information therefore - thank you!

And what is a very fast
SSD and
RAM

Is this still up-to-date?
Samsung MZ-V7S500BW 970 EVO Plus 500 GB NVMe M.2
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz C18

Or is there anything better?

Or…

As to your components.

I would use the 250 GB version for the OS drive. Why spend the money on something that will never be used, as only the database goes on that drive and it will not get big enough to fill a 64 gb drive.

I think that is desktop RAM not NUC RAM. NUC’s use laptop RAM. Might be better with something like…

As always, double check the compatibility with the memory and the NUC model.

Great - thank you.
The smaller SSDs do sometimes habe nearly the same price as the bigger ones.

250GB 71,00 Euro
500Gb 78,00 Euro

FWIW I am going for a NUC8i3 over the NUC10i3. It’s all I need for my library with plenty of head room. I currently have around 73,000 tracks/ 5,000 albums. Adding a 128GB NVMe M.2 SSD and 8GB DDR4. There’s no need to over-spec these things.

Do you also make any convolution?

I think 200k tracks will not be the problem, but DSP Engine

I have multiple zones and use upsampling (power of 2) on some zones, cross feed on my headphone setup, and occasionally volume levelling and other filters.

And 8GB RAM is really enough under all conditions?

Sometimes i read about 16GB

But here 8GB is recommended

Once your library is greater than 250k tracks does ROCK require more 8GB. So for most 8GB is sufficient and spending extra to have 16GB or more in a NUC to run ROCK is just a waste of money.

Is enough; 4GB is enough in many scenarios but 8GB is a good choice.

Roon makes their recommendations for good reason.

Does the NUC8i7 support RAM with 3200 MHz?

Because the intel compatibility list ends with 2400
Or is it wasted money
https://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails?activeModule=Intel®%20NUC#

All you need is DDR4-2400 (PC4-19200)
