Kef LS60, i love it.
how do you like the LS60s?
due to placement constraints which mandate close wall and corner placement, i’ve been considering a pair to replace my whole system.
I purchased one as a curiosity and liked it so well that I purchased a second, have considered purchasing a third. As I mentioned, I use one in the library and one in the kitchen but have considered replacing SONOS with more, especially at the office. I have not used them as a stereo pair but assume they would work well paired. They have an impressive number of features, tweaks and adjustments. (In my case, they replaced a couple of speakers from Elac which I did not like and gave away). As mentioned, a Roon Community user, sent me a WiiM product which led to my interest in their product line. Both WiiM and Eversolo are a rarge of devices with which it is fun to tinker. I use the WiiM Speakers and Eversolo Play as a grouped Roon system, all of which can be controlled by my Apple devices.
I think they’re quite good value in their price range. In the US, they’re a complete system for $6,000 + tax and I consider them very good value in that range. They are not my critical listening speakers (which are Wilson Audio at a different price point).
They work in the room I need them to work in, but their placement is far less than ideal. What you can’t see in the image below is that this room backs up to our kitchen - it’s a somewhat large, complicated space.
You can see from the photo @Eddy_Schouten shared that they look fantastic in many environments. My wife didn’t want speakers in the room mine are in. But she actually likes these and that, alone, is well worth the price ![]()
The LS60 in my living room are approaching 2 years now. They’re in the middle of the largish room (~15x5m) and fill the space well. The wide dispersion makes for great listening, even off-axis.
I took advantage of an extended holiday discount on the KC62 over here (€1260 a piece) last week and was surprised by how much it cleaned up the sound over the full spectrum – the LS60 sound truly on top of their game now. So much so that this weekend I added a second one, neatly evening out bass levels across the room.
In hindsight I’d say that with adding the KC62s, the aural experience went from 75% > 95% > 100%. Undoubtedly there’s a bit of expectation/confirmation bias being tickled here, but nonetheless satisfaction levels are high. ![]()
Having spent ages looking for something for my new snug/library I eventually decided on a Phantom 2 ultimate 108dB. Very, very pleased with it. I would normally have got a stereo pair but the space isn’t really big enough.
Now trying to decide whether I get another Phantom for my garden office.
