I have a NUC8I7BEH/ROCK. Signal path does not show processing speed when playing DSD 256 Multi-channel or DSD512 2-ch via Ethernet to a exasound S88.
The processing speed only appears when the NUC has to convert DSD to PCM for playback on non dsd capable Roon Ready endpoints. When I group in several endpoints only one shows the processing speed while the others don’t.
Processing speed is initially 5. something then settles to 3.6 and stays there.
DSD → PCM conversion is different from the PCM → DSD512 use case discussed above.
Please force upsampling to DSD512, and play some 44.1kHz music to a single endpoint.
Another case is: set MQA Capability to No MQA Support, enable MQA Core decoder, play some Tidal MQA and upsample to DSD512.
They’ll run fine with your NUC8i7BEH. If you do these tests, please report the processing speeds. Thanks.
I would if I could, currently renovating the primary listening space to a media room and only have 4 Elac Z3’s around the house for playback. It will be a while before the DSD playback is possible.
