I’m going to give this a listen now, too!
I did not like it. I made it through the first two tracks and was put off quite a bit by the odd instrumentation/plucking sounds.
I’m sorry about that.
The fact that it’s different from the myriad of other ‘conventional’ Four Seasons recordings makes it appealing to me.
To my ears, she’s an incredibly gifted violinist…
No need to apologize at all!
It certainly is different from the conventional recordings, just, it didn’t do it for me.
I moved on to this album and I’m enjoying it much better.
More Rota:
Following up to my above post, this recording from the late 90’s features selections from multiple Rota film scores including The Godfather films, 8 1/2, La Dolce Vita, Rocco and His Brothers, The Orchestral Rehearsal, and The Leopard. These are luscious performandes in good sound, streamable on Qozuz. This release hits highlights of his film scores, but there are many more…
could you provide some thoughts about the album, music, performance, etc?
Thanks, not sure what happened to my post but I reloaded the original.
Giving this a try. Looks like a nice mix of composers…
Last night, I attended this concert.
A very fine performance of the Götterdämmerung Suite by the HK Phil, conducted masterfully by Daniele Gatti.
It was quite an event!
