Are there any updates on this setup. Did someone succeeded to create a generic Roon-wireguard setup that is stable and reproducible? Roon ARV sucks and I would love to run the music without using my phone as client.
Maybe the Room team itself could guide us in how to achieve such a setup. I’ve tried myself but never succeeded.
Mine works great, but I configured it using Unraid’s built in Wireguard server.
I finally managed to solve the problem by installing Mikrotik routers both at the job and at home running Tailscale client in ´bridge` mode. With some. On both ends a vlan-aware bridge has been placed. The final tcp delay is 10ms (over fiber connections) and I’m now able to listen to music with this annoying ARC (has by the way disappeared from Android Car) thing Roon has presented as a solution. For travel or workation purposes I usually carry a portable Mikrotik router with me that grants me access to the same L2 subnet over a Tailscale VPN link. Security wise the targeted L2 subnet (at home) has no gateway is not forwarding any traffic. The only thing that exists is a Docker MacVLAN interface that belongs to a Docker container running Roon. (I’m using multiple interface connected to the same ROON instance so that I could serve music in those subnets I like to listen music.
I someone needs help configuring a Mikrotik based setup - just let me know (just to give the awesome community something in return)
