My music is all stuff I like, and spans many Genres. And I have lots of playlists of my music for different moods and occasions. That said, I am always interested in new finds (new or old release) that fit my mood and tastes. Tidal clearly has millions of songs and guessing many fit my target listening goals - but how to find them. Pandora “stations” did a great job of this, but you don’t support it and their library is not as large and I don’t want more streaming services.
Tidal makes playlists for me - but either they mix genres because I listened to different ones at different times. So I listen to classical on Sunday morning and Blues on Saturday. If I am exercising and put on My Daily Discovery, I don’t want either of those genres but they will dominate the list. Or, they make me one that fits but it is all the songs I just listened to and liked. I just listened to them - I don’t need a playlist to hear them again!
Can you introduce the concept of stations? Where I give you a genre and/or seed playlist and/or a few seed artists or songs and you do Pandora like discovery for me? You can use as a source, my own songs - especially ones I have not played much or recently - and then the magic is if you can somehow mine the metadata from Tidal to discover songs I might like there from their vast catalog? But all tied to the mood of the station. So you might very well find a Mozart deep cut I love, but I don’t want it in the station I seeded with NIN ![]()
