Running roon on Linux Ubuntu 18.04 as a user (not as root)

Thank you for the instant reply!

Prior to using your method I tried another post here Installing Roon Server on Fedora Linux not as root

This post contains a disastrous command: % sudo usermod -G roon $USER

This destroys users and the group wheel without -a in the command!

I am in damage control now.

No doubt I have a user issue and you have confirmed what I need to work on.

The user “roon” is not available, only “root”.
