Prior to using your method I tried another post here Installing Roon Server on Fedora Linux not as root
This post contains a disastrous command: % sudo usermod -G roon $USER
This destroys users and the group wheel without -a in the command!
I am in damage control now.
No doubt I have a user issue and you have confirmed what I need to work on.
The user “roon” is not available, only “root”.
