The downside of the lifetime subscription is it gives Roon Labs no incentive to continue supporting a product which has significant operational costs beyond code fixes. I prefer to make them earn my subscription each year.
Of course, folks are free to choose whatever offer is most advantageous to them, but I encourage them to factor potential long-term effects into that calculation.
