Mario,
And also, presumably, because they can’t in all honesty vouch for a configuration which they haven’t actually tried and certified.
As long as that is possible, I’m home and dry - I think!
== Streamer ==
The Roon server sends the music data out either via the network or by USB. If you use the network method, there needs to be something on the other end that can receive it. Preferably this is a streamer that is “Roon Ready”.
And that can’t be the DAC of a preamp like the ParaSound Halo P6, by itself?
(Forgive my ignorance; this is the first time this old fogey brought up on valves and LPs has ventured into this area!)
If you use USB, it can be simply a DAC with USB input. Preferably “Roon Tested” but it’s not completely necessary.
I’m aware that USB was never intended to carry audio; so am determined to get something better.
Wouldn’t that duplicate what Roon does?
To a degree. That’s because barely anyone will try to market a streamer that can only work with Roon. Usually they will have a bunch of methods to stream built in, and Roon is one of the options.
So something like the iFi Zen Stream; as mentioned here?
Thanks again, Mario!
