Only a matter of time.
I can just imagine our US friends strongly complaining when their product prices go up because of Trump’s Tariffs.

Fortunately, as a newly retiree, I’m not in the market for more audio gear. I’m content with the headphones and endpoints I have.
It’s the lure of Bandcamp and 7digital that is difficult to wean myself from.
I thought I bought a lot of albums on BandCamp but you make me look like a newbie (and I will soon pass 700 albums).
I have not bought an album from 7digital for many a year though.
Based on the emails I get telling me to buy more and who bought what, I thought it was the other way round
So they are just shaming me into buying more music
Just take the Mac Mini M2 for £399 and get the better hardware for your Roon Server Engine . Even very large music libraries and extensive DSP settings are no problem. I even believe that the Mac Mini is better than even the most expensive Roon Nucleus due to its superior computing power, even in the basic version.
Very impressive
We lived in Austria for nearly 2 years. Fantastic experience. My wife took a role as the managing director of a chocolate factory in a global company.
Couldn’t see that being possible in the post-Brexit time we now live in.
I still have my EU ID card (not that it’s of any use for reasons other than posterity nowadays!)
I didn’t but I opted out for all marketing stuff years ago.
An impressive return for 1 year
It can be great (I’ve been in Berlin for the longest time and miss the skiing and the food but not most of the people).
A source for the ice tub interest?
In the Scots dialect we would generally describe Austrians as “dour”
Im in South Africa, if and when we see it we’ll be lucky if its under 2 x US price. The Nucleus and Nucleus + were
VAT, import duties etc vary idoubt its postal costs
If i try to import a headphone cable o pay almost as much for delivery as ido for product
Think yourself lucky the UKP is strong
The US price will exclude tax (that’s the norm there), the UK price includes VAT (that’s the law here for consumer products). If you take the exchange rate as something like 0.9, the add VAT at 20%, it’s not that unreasonable. It works out at about $100 for shipping, etc.
Being in the EU or not, makes no difference to products from the US.
I got my unit about a month ago and very happy, using Ethernet connection and the HDMI output.
Happened for many years before leaving the EU. Britain has been known as treasure island for many foreign manufacturers long before Brexit, particularly to European car manufacturers and no doubt in future Chinese ones!
Less setup than a NUC (no bios to set etc) and once ROCK is installed, no reason to ever upgrade the OS from the current one as you won’t need any of the bells and whistles that Apple add to each new OS (that typically only frustrate me rather than put into actual use). The maintenance thing for a MAC I with ROCK is way overblown. (that said, I’m still happily running a seven year old 7i5 NUC in an Akasa case - which was temperamental at first until I switched out the case for the Akasa and the original RAM and drive it came with).
And oh, the resale value with a Mac will be better than a proprietary box running only Roon.
For years the UK price was always the dollar price, so $400 it would cost £400. Recently exchange rate has improved a bit in UK’s favour so should be a little cheaper. It’s nothing to do with Brexit, US has never been in EU so nothing has changed. So, what can it be?
Spot on Jeff. The answer to your question, is a rip off. That’s what it is.
I suggest if you think the Roon Nucleus One is over priced where you live, then don’t buy one.
