You showed up here to tell people that within the next two weeks they should throw away their server and get a new one? This is a new low. I flagged your post as inappropriate. It does not contribute to the discussion and it borders on hostility.
any idea when the official docker image will be available? the 20th of April is approaching ![]()
Soon (necessarily, as April 20 is not far away
)
It’s quite inconvenient that there are two threads about this, this one here and QNAP QTS does not support new minimum system requirements to run Roon Server (20 April 2026)
Would first like to thank all the people who work for Roon directly or indirectly to support all the music lovers out there. Roon completely transformed the way I enjoy music and I cannot thank you enough!
I’m glad to see Synology NAS with the latest DSM are supported so I don’t have to worry about anything! Whew!
After 20th of April should I install new version of Roon server on my Synology system?
This thread concerns QNAP not Synology. Since Synology (with the latest DSM) meets the minimum requirements, you may upgrade. However, if you are running an older version please confirm.
As @mjw says, if you have the latest DSM, the update will happen just like always and nothing will change for you. If your DSM is older and you need to switch, there is no hurry, wait until the new Docker container and instructions are actually available.
I have DSM 7.3.2-86009 Update 3. So I will be waiting and testing after this day.
This has all the requirements (edit: as far as we know), so there will not be a need to do anything but install the update just like you always do. (I.e., you will not have to switch to the upcoming solution with a Docker container)
I love the part, and stopped reading after the part that said, “Note that this news is only of relevance to people running Roon server on their NAS; folks just using their NAS as a file source can avoid thinking about any of this.”

I was hoping to get the images out today (4/6), but it is looking more like either tomorrow or the day after at the latest.
We already have some initial images, but we are trying to get some initial testing and at least some minor documentation out at the same time.
Sorry for the delays ![]()
