A fine baroque trio performing Purcell, Michel Lambert, and Louis-Nicolas Clérambault at a fantastic monastery next to Basel. A memorable evening!
Looks Fantastic.
We were at Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh a couple of weeks ago. It really is an amazing place. Went for a walk first, then a concert (Stephen Hough playing Schubert), then lunch in the pub next door.
This really is a beautiful part of the country and my favourite place to visit. We have seen some great gigs at Snape also, although a different genre. The Blues Band with Paul Jones, Honey and the Bear, a local folk band who are rather good.

Last night we hosted Electric Blue Yonder from the USA, plus Tara Maclean (For the first time) and Catherine MacLellan (for the 3rd time) and what a show we had. The weather did it’s best to thwart us in seeking up the marquees, but the show must go on…
Catherine MacLellan with Nick Gauthier
Tara Maclean, Tara and Catherine performed duets at the beginning of each ones set, plus a duet encore…
Electric Blue Yonder, Beth and Johnny Veres
Johnny trying out my Emerald Carbon Fibre X20 guitar… He loved it…
Bedford summer sessions headlined by James.
Magic Numbers, Inspiral Carpets and Johnny Marr.
Thankfully dry if a bit on the chilly side.
Night of the Prog is a good festival with a nice atmosphere
the Lorelei location is very special too.
Sadly it is the last time for this festival
have fun! ![]()
Yes, but …
Night Of The Prog will no longer happen on the Loreley, but we are working on a different concept: NOTP at Sea - a prog cruise sailing from Genoa, Italy on the Mediterranean, which is scheduled to take place at the end of September / beginning of October 2026. More details will follow in due course after this year’s festival is over.
I hadn’t heard that, thanks.
Unfortunately Genoa is a bit far for a weekend.
Unless they let me out on my favorite island, Corsica ![]()
Great lineup! Enjoy!!
Yesterday we saw Stevie Nicks in Amsterdam.
I always wanted to see Fleetwood Mac live, but unfornuately that never happened. My wife suggested that we need to go this concert, I was not entirely convinced. I was afraid of some sort of ‘Fleetwood Mac’ cover band kinda setting.
But I was wrong. Really wrong. Blown away by this small woman with loads of charisma. And her voice.
And then there was the band. At some point I found myself figuring out who are these incredible muscisicans, only to find out these are some of the most well-known session musciscians ![]()
Long story short: I really regret not seeing here before, but you’re never too old to learn
We had a wonderful evening.
I made a video of ‘Stand Back’, which was one of those moments during the concert where the band got some space to show some muscle.
Soda Blonde with the Symphony Orchestra at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, last night.
Brilliant show, songs sounded great orchestrated.
Plus I was lucky to be invited to Thursday’s rehearsal. An audience of one, such a privilege.
Had a nice weekend in central Oregon at the Fairwell Festival in Redmond. Lots of Cowboys/Girls and hippies. Perfect combo for a fun weekend! Some of the highlights were:
Sierra Hull: I hadn’t seen her in a while - She has a new band (with a drummer!) She was great…
Colter Wall: I had never seen him before -He was really fun, and had a super cool band.
Jason Isbell: Nice set - his band is phenomenal.
Billy Strings: One of our favorites. Always puts on a great show. Sierra Hull sat in for 4 songs…
Sarah Jarosz: I was looking forward to her set, and she didn’t disappoint. Really good stuff.
Black Pumas: this one caught me off guard. I had listened to their albums, and thought they were good - but live, they crushed it. Had a great time seeing these guys…
Kacey Musgraves: Spacey Kacey. Not really my thing, but had to check her set out. A little ( a lot?) over produced, but the crowd loved it, and a good way to end the festival.
Wow, what a stellar lineup - lots of acts I really like that I’d love to see live.
Great lineup ![]()
