Great stuff. Fripp has such a great pedigree as a musician. Nowadays he seems to be more popular than ever, due to his latest venture with his wife (Toyah)

Yeah it was him and Toyah with a load of guest musicians, the best covers band I’ve ever seen  His guitar playing was phenomenal!

From the second day of Forwards Festival, here’s LCD Soundsystem who brought the festival to a close. They were excellent. (You can just see James Murphy in the white T-shirt

… and yesterday, La Luz put on an awesome show at a small venue (Strange Brew) in Bristol.

They were ably supported by the really lively French\Swiss new wave band Barrio Colette.

King Hannah, Lido Berlin

They played like I hoped they would after listening to the Big Swimmer album, their quiet-loud-quiet swings more tilted to extended sections of screaming guitars and pounding drums. Plus every band should have a five string Fender Bass

I saw One Machine, Angelus Apatrida and Overkill last night @ Szene Vienna.

One Machine was the first act to hit the stage. The band seems to be around for over a decade and is playing a mix of power- and thrash metal. The guys were trying a bit too hard for my taste and I had the impression things didn’t work out for them on that evening… no flow at all…

Spanish thrashers Angelus Apatrida were up next and impressed me again with a tight set. They really got the crowd going.

Overkill hit the stage and the place was on fire right away. Founding member D.D. Verni was not able to play and so Christian „Speesy“ Giesler (ex-Kreator) took over on bass. The band was rocking for more than 1,5 hours and played 16 songs taken from 12 albums.

It was great to finally see Overkill live. Unbelievable that the band is still going strong after four decades.

Zebra tonight at the Florida Theater.
A very good night, celebrating 50 years as a band with all three original members still present.

Wow 50 years is incredible with all the original members.
It’s only about 3 weeks since I was introduced to them by @DDPS

I have the first three albums on vinyl but still a relative noob as maybe only 10 years ago I first heard them.

Bob Mould solo electric last night (9/14/2024) at the intimate Elkton Music Hall, Elkton Maryland.

Sound was phenomenal. Way better than I expected. Bob was very animated and talkative. Lots of fun.
