Epic fail. Bought this based on quite a few members with whom I share a similar musical taste but on first listen, it is utter ■■■■■■ Just the wrong sort of repetitive electronic music for my taste. It wasn’t on TIDAL so I purchased from Bandcamp and paid the artist €12. That’s the one good thing :grinning:

Diddn’t like these new release

Enjoyed this one very much instead.

Abbado really makes the Chamber Orchestra of Europe sing in the Schubert symphonies.
And those Haydn symphonies are a joy forever.

This one is also a beauty.

My favorite Jackson Browne albums, in-fact the only two in my library. For those not familiar, it’s not just one double album – volume 1 & volume 2 are separated by about 2.5 years.

Jackson Browne Vol-1

Jackson Browne Vol-2

Totally agree - in fact two of my favourite live albums period. His The Road East - Live in Japan set is also outstanding, and extremely well recorded.

I never knew Fleetwood Mac was so good before Stevie Nicks.

Thanks for the tip! A quick search within Roon didn’t locate that album for me in Qobuz or TIDAL (I’m in the US). So, may have to dig a little deeper. Last I heard, JB had tested positive for this rampant virus nearly a week ago, but was doing okay at home.

No, it’s not on streaming unfortunately. I bought the CD on spec when it came out - I kew it would be great, and I have pretty much everything he’s ever put out. The sound quality on the CD rip is extremely good, it’s a Sony Japanese issue IIRC.

Well, you could have listened to it first.

Overall, from my brief listen: it didn’t grab me. I’m not sure about those vocals (boy bandish). Too much of it sounding like synth pop of the 80’s. Autotune to the max, the bulk of the samples I’m not overly a fan of either.

Home perhaps the most coherent track on the album, but that ‘soft soul’ vibe is not especially to my taste.

Yup, gotta agree with you oneofmany - not a strong release at all. I’m pleased to see you got that warm fuzzy feeling from supporting the artist at the very least. Cheers.

True. Doh!

Agree completely.

If only it had gone to an artists who’s music I enjoy

Still I just purchased Freya Ridings album for the extortionate price of AUD32.00.
