For fans of Khruangbin…A Dutch band I think they are…with that clear Thai 60’s-70’s funk inspired sound.

I have been fortunate enough to see Stephen Fearing from Blackie and the Rodeo Kings twice at Roy Gandy of REGA fame’s home.
It was funny when Stephen spoke about something special the record company were doing with the latest album. It is available in MQA although I didn’t know at the time to what he was referring. Roy is a real analog man, so I had to chuckle about it when I found out.
Stephen playing Beguiling Eyes live is a treat to the ears for sure.
Not a great pic…
Last night I listened to the Isabelle Faust / Alexander Melnikov recording of the César Franck A Major sonata. This is beautiful music from the late 19th century salon repertoire. As much as I appreciate Isabelle Faust’s playing on the Beethoven sonatas, I came away a bit underwhelmed by her vibrato-free baroque-style light-touch playing of this deeply romantic music.
This morning I listened to other recordings of this beautiful sonata, and I liked the rendition by Augustin Dumay / Maria-João Pires much better… Wonderful!
Music by Darius Milhaud - I only knew well “Le Boeuf Sur Le Toit”, hadn’t heard before the violin concertos… This is a lovely album by another very talented violinist from Germany.

Fav for me is title track and someone, somewhere in summertime. Got to crank up the volume.
