One for you to compare the Korngold concerto to… during the first movement I always feel that E.T. comes touching down from another world…
BTW, this is an album for which Roon shows two Tidal versions, both MQA… But, there is still a 16/44.1 version available, which on my non-MQA DAC sounds best.
Thanks @Andreas_Philipp1 - I’ll check it out. First time I heard the Korngold - there is no doubt that John Williams heard this! I was really after the Bruch (one of my favourite classical pieces) with this album, but the Korngold and Chausson were unexpected bonuses and Steinbacher’s playing is exceptional! A keeper.
A very enjoyable rendition of this all too familiar piece.
