This album is almost a 2 for 1 - Livity (1981) - but excludes some tracks from the excellent:
Message From The King (1978)

And perhaps you like the music, but aren’t quite at one with Prince Far I’s deep voice…you could try these dubs:

This is the first Springsteen album that I can remember hearing, at about the age of 11 it had a big impact on me then and his music still does now. A recent purchase on CD to replace the cassette and vinyl copies.

Back to this this morning relaxing after a monstrous brunch, the best of this weeks releases for me. A like the mixture of electronic and traditionaland instruments and she has a great voice. It’s varied enough to not get stuck on one style but does not feel disjointed. At times it takes a nod to Green Gartside and Scritti Polliti which is no bad thing, but overall she is doing her own thing. She’s not an artist that I had heard off before so very pleased I decided to listen to it on Friday.

And right now I’d hope that place is the Suez Canal…

Someone posted this a couple of days ago when it was released and it caught my interest for a Sunday morning listen.
Not sure if Indie Chamber Pop is a big genre in 2021 but this is very nice.
Going to continue listening while I cook brunch for the family.

It’s certainly getting some interest on this thread of late

I have that spinning now. Great one!

The book is excellent BTW, it escaped me that it’s was written by Galaxy 500’s drummer. There’s plenty that’s subjective and I don’t agree with, but it’s well written, researched and thought through. Certainly makes you think. Thanks again :+1:

Could be another breakout genre of the year.
Springsteen set the down tempo vibe for the day (well him and the driving rain in south Wales today)

I have had to add a bit of Tindersticks, Fleet foxes, Bon Iver and Agnes Obel to give us a few hours of music.

According to Roon, Belle and Sebastian, Lambchop and The National are all Chamber Pop. There’s a day’s decent listening right there

Doesn’t sit right for B&S, but I often find myself at odds with the Roon genre categories.

But any excuse to add B&S to the queue isto be taken. At this point I am sorted until about 5 PM

In truth I’m at odds with genres somewhat. For me they’re either to general or specific to be useful and I rarely pay them much attention outside of classical. For classical music, the academics have had their say, so there’s a little more rigour/consensus. I also know much less about classical and need all the help I can get :joy:
