What We Are Listening To [2022-10]

I believe that the photo for that Album Cover is the reason that they broke up and to this day that Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham still don’t get on.

Yep a great recommendation… I started with their track on the Acid Jazz Compilation, just finished Amino Acid Flashback :+1: and started Tsunami Jams.

Mate I think it’s a little more complicated than that, but there’s no question there’s some bad blood now between the two. For the latest Fleetwood Mac reunion tour a couple of years ago, Stevie refused to participate if Lindsay was going to be part of the group. It’s also one of the reasons an official CD version of that Buckingham Nicks album was never released. There are some bootleg CD’s out there that I have that include some live recordings from that Tuscaloosa, AL concert I attended in 1975.

I just started Tsunami Jams as well.

Thanks again @Henri. I’m also trying to download the “Live on KPFK” recording so I can give it a listen.

@Fergus_B if you want to read a great article on the Buckingham Nicks and that Tuscaloosa concert l attended then you should read this. Looks like I was a day off on the date. It was the 29th not the 28th. The Morgan Hall Auditorium only seated 200. It was one of the musical highlights of my life.

I apologize if I’m oversharing, but it’s been an emotional day for me.

One of my favorite artists of all time is Alanis Morissette. But I only like her live (or acoustic) music from the Jagged Little Pill album. I wanted to hear another live album, so I used the “Live” focus on my Roon library, and noticed I’d never listened to her “Live At London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire 2020” album. I downloaded it several weeks ago when I first started using Roon, and forgot all about it. All I can say is I’m blown away.

No problem mate. Nothing wrong with a bit of emotion.

Good enough for Joan, good enough for us.

I discovered this band today after Roon Radio played the track Caroline from this album. Absolutely fantastic - just my cup of tea. Georgia Maq has an incredible voice.

We’re in a bit of a home makeover so temporarily listening on a BlueSound FLEX 2i. Quite amazing and humbling how good that little thing sounds in the living room.

This was a recommendation on the Darko Audio podcast this week (by Michael not John) and I have to say it is very nice.

Don’t need to be able to understand a word of the lyrics to enjoy it

I had forgotten how good this album is at times. It hits that 70’s folk psych vibe so well especially on Ponies in Town and Sorceress. Becoming an ARC favourite. So many great tracks though and ties the dark and moody with some poppier moments so we’ll.

So gorgeous. Inspired by this great interview by Rick Beato, well worth checking out: The Thomas Newman Interview | Where Does THIS Music Come From? - YouTube
