I watched a YouTube “reaction” video about a young music producer hearing ELO for the first time. Some part of me suspects that these videos are more staged than not. How can you make it to your thirties in music without recalling what happened in the 70’s? It would be like me being unaware of Jazz or Classical… In either case, he loved the music and reinsured me to put this album on this morning. Jeff Lynne was certainly visionary. ![]()
I like this more than I thought I would. It’s got a good timeless rock sound. I may even buy the vinyl as I think it’d sound even better in that format. If you’ve not seen Steel Beans live it’s the kind of experience you don’t forget.
Continuing down the rabbit hole of ‘70s creative rock. This was prompted by Roon Radio after ELO’s El Dorado. But instead of “I’m Not in Love” it chose “One Night in Paris”. What?! I’ve never heard this before. Or really anything that 10CC did that didn’t go mainstream. So now I’m listening to the album. ![]()
That’s one of my favourite 10cc tracks. I think that it’s excellent and, unusually for the '70’s, well recorded/mastered. ![]()
Been in touch with SuperDeluxeEditions this morning to find out when the Blue-Ray’s are being shipped. Was originally supposed to be 31/10/25 , I have Welcome to the Pleasuredome and Propaganda’s A secret Wish on order. Really looking forward to listening to both
