There’s actually more people like that than you might imagine.
I personally know three people who have boxes of records, no way to play them and by recent conversation no intention of ever acquiring a way to play them.
But they are hanging on to them.

Mine too as when they unfortunately die if their partners are like mine they will get dumped in a skip never to be appreciated again. The records not the friends…,
