Inherited? Picked up just to test whether your turntable can actually play 78?

Aren’t 78’s a completely different material? I didn’t think modern TTs would do them at all.

I see the beginnings of a research rabbit hole forming in front of me. :sigh

Yes I bought a lot of 10 on eBay just to see if the old Bakelite 78 only player I have in my antique wall of shame collection actually worked…which it does.

Yes Shellac.
It’s the needle that makes the difference.
A 78 needle is almost like a big old nail…lol.
Apart from that any player that does 78 speed should work.
