What's Rocking you tonight! [2024-07]

Very nice haul!
Everyone has to have at least one copy of Tubular Bells in their collection.
I lost count how many I have though…lol.

But my pick there would be Ian Dury. That’s quite pricy over here.

And Pavlov’s Dog is not something you see every day either, his voice is definitely an acquired taste😎

I’m quite partial to the first couple of Pavlov’s Dog albums, despite David Surkamp’s unusual vocal
I am curious to hear the Pete Haycock album. I’ve always liked his tone and playing within Climax Blues Band. This album is instrumental, so looking forward to hearing it tomorrow.

Johnny Blue Skies is a nickname Simpson was given in his younger days by a Gen X barroom character in a trench coat with a Zippo lighter. It was later referenced in the liner notes of Simpson’s Grammy-winning A Sailor’s Guide to Earth . But as much as the new name and the new album open a new season for Sturgill (he says he’s written multiple albums worth of material), it’s also perhaps the most Sturgill Simpson thing he has ever done. It’s country, but expanded, enlightened, and uninhibited, rendering it boundless in possibilities for inspiring and speaking to a wide audience intimately.” ~George Dearborne [SavingCountryMusic.com]

Mine released by Govinda records with different title for whatever strange reason.
Regardless, it’s pretty good and NOT on Qobuz.

Rather enjoying this new album and BandCamp purchase.

Forget the cover it’s more folk and atmospheric (light) metal.
