No complaints here…learned about an interesting new band to listen to.

Wondering if it could be this artist that you meant to reference, instead of Lettuce, which Mark Lettieri plays on?

@AceRimmer
Whilst we’re on the subject of vinyl. Question or two regarding your US cleaning regime.

  1. Do you rinse in a fresh bath of distilled water after cleaning?
  2. Air or vacuum dry?

Thanks in advance :+1:

I always rinse with distilled myself after using cleaning solution. But I have no means of drying other than air itself.

My regime which has served myself well I feel.
US clean in fresh distilled water for approximately 45 minutes.
Place records in a rack for drying, I have a dedicated record drying rack I got off eBay many years ago but I think an old sink plate rack would work.
I actually dry them with a fan just because I have one in the same location but it’s not essential just makes it a little quicker.
Then I wipe down with a microfiber cloth before putting back into the sleeves.
So no separate after clean rinse for myself. But that’s probably because I don’t use any cleaning chemicals anyway just fresh straight distilled water.

Finding this star rating a little harsh.

Thanks both. :+1:

I’m expecting a US system to arrive this week, so just checking in advance. I already have a drying “gadget” which I made for air drying my manual cleans - fan is a good option too.
My plan is to do a final rinse before drying as I will be adding IPA (not pale ale) and some form of wetting agent/surfactant to the wash bath.
My drying gadget :slightly_smiling_face:

Generic made in China version, with the vinyl adapter included (holds eight albums). The specs for most of these units seem to be identical, so we shall see how it goes. :crossed_fingers:

Managed to get the wife to pay half (early birthday present for me) So, worse case scenario it’s cost me £100  I always like to have a small project on the go.

One tip I learned a while back.
Mine has the same type of gadget for holding and spinning the records supposed to hold 5.
Don’t try to do 8 or 5 at once.
You want to have a gap of at least an inch between the records for the best cleaning results :sunglasses:.
I usually do 3 if not too dirty and just 2 if really sh!tty.
