No, will check Bandcamp tonight.
“The Cleansing doesn’t only match Peter Perrett’s best work but expands it: an ambitious double album comprising 20 songs, with his uniquely narcotic and alluring melodies, gorgeous South London drawl and ravishing rock dynamic now allied to a wider span of musical arrangements and lyrical concerns. Alongside his trusted team of sons Jamie (guitar / production) and Peter Jr (bass) plus members of his live band, Perrett is assisted by a roster of starry guests including Johnny Marr, Bobby Gillespie and Fontaines DC’s Carlos O’Connell.” [bandcamp]
Finish off the day!
And of course because I was bragging Roon Arc it looks like my home server is now offline
Bubbleupnp to the rescue.
Can’t go wrong with some Patty B.
I saw him play at our local theatre, many years ago. He’s a very good guitar player, but he did come across as a little bit too showbiz for my liking.
Edit: Coincidentally, it was November 1st 2016.
During the last few years of my working life I had the intro of this as the ringtone on my work mobile. It’s took a while for me to not associate the intro with a problem that needed sorting!
Great song. One of the most uplifting tunes from the Gabriel era…imho.
Edit: Spooky update. I’m sat in bed, watching a really poor version of Jekyll and Hyde on tv. Decided to play ‘It’ whilst it was earworming me. The last thing the female character in the movie said before I turned the sound off/music on, was
“Gabriel, I need to explain something”
My ringtone for the last twenty years has been Crazy Train…very apt most days
Elle’s so sassy.
The only other person besides myself truly that I have ever seen post music by the Quireboys!
Most excellent
2nd album from Fulton Street from Melbourne, my album of the week, good old fashioned soul/funk. Tons of energy and so groovy.
