I would go with Still Alive?
Symphonium running well on my Pixel 8 without problem.
A couple of Plex-related issues:
- Plex does appear to automatically add new releasesāam I missing something?
- Plex doesnāt recognize IMPORTDATE, so ordering isnāt great
I was hoping for a separate tab/index for Plex and Local. It may be there and I havenāt found it yet. Just started playing with it last night and havenāt poked around all that much.
The interface is wicked coolā¦
Well, Iām impressed with Symphonium streaming from my Plex container over 5G. Not a hitch with Android Audio. Definitely worth a fiver!
Such a shame Plex removed TIDAL integration as Iād like to have had streaming options, too. But, at least, I can reliably access my library now, and download for offline use.
Still finding my way around Plex and Symphonium, and I havenāt worked out what bit rates are streamed, or whether I can stream bit-perfect over a reliable, unmetered connection. But in the car, perfect so far. Iām traveling south at the weekend, with some patchy 3G, so this will be a real test in terms of buffering and recovering from a lost connection.
Now Iām home, Iām playing this new arrival.
I guess you were pretty impressed with that find then
I may end up killing the local and just use it in place of the Plex interface. I have USBAPP for the local stuff anyway.
But yeah, it looks pretty sweet for <$10.
Yes, thanks for the recommendation. I like the Celtic vibe. Hard to pin a genre ⦠sort of acoustic Prog. Funny thing, I think Iāve seen her perform live at Steve Hackett a decade or so ago.
Yeah I think I described it as kind of acoustic folk prog.
You can scan them automatically in Plex Server (I do it at 4AM) and then when I open Symfonium I do a scan to bring in new music
Itās a bargain and Plex is super reliable over 4G and 5G
You can control the streaming settings and pretty much everything in SYMFONIUM as there are more options that you can shake 10 sticks at. It does make getting used to it a bit intimidating though. I have been using it about 10 monthās now as pretty much my only local playback client and I still find new things
Sounds like my third wifeā¦
They are certainly better at choosing a name than the USBAPP folks.
Is it sacrilegious to prefer Kevin Ayers to Soft Machine? Nah, I thought not. Iāve been revisiting the ramshackle beauty of Kevinās solo output this week. I want this album on vinyl, but prices are a ālittleā bit too high!
His final album āThe Unfairgroundā is typical Kevin Ayers, although I think his hedonistic lifestyle was finally catching up with him by that time. One of his last interviews is kind of sad, but he lived life by his own rules. Maybe a bit simplistic to lump him in with Syd Barrett, but people do.
Enjoying this album, fronted by Anne-Marie Helder of Luna Rossa, and performed by Panic Room, a Welsh progressive rock band.
And I discovered Luna Rossa in reverse to thatā¦lol.
Had a few Panic Room albums and Roon bio led me to Luna Rossaš
