I notice many posters here subscribe to both Tidal and Qobuz and I’m curious as to the reasons why.
Being located in Canada it’s becoming clearer we won’t be offered the Qobuz streaming service any time soon. I know there are ways to acquire it if I really want it. But do I? I’m very happy with Tidal at the moment.
I subscribe to both because I can’t bring myself to get rid of one or the other. I have 1831 linked albums including 922 on Tidal and 909 on Qubuz. They are the same albums with a few exceptions.
I like MQA when using one of two MQA DAC’s. I like 24/96 and 24/192 when using my Oppo 203. In some cases Tidal has the highest resolution and in other cases Qubuz does. I may drop one or the other someday, but maybe not.
In my case, it’s not about reliability because I have never had an issue with either.
