Long time collector of music on CDs and over the years have moved the collection across to FLAC files on a NAS - not as many as others here (around 15,000 files) and still prefer to listen to an album than random tracks from a streaming service (although that does have its place).
When I first started doing it, I built my own touch screen music library management computer (getting an 8" touch screen and ‘microcomputer’ with any sort of quality back then was not easy ) but it was limited and have moved across to professional products.
Have tried a few alternatives (even tried Neil Young’s PonoPlayer - that didn’t last long ) as a way to carry my music with me.
The options now are significantly better but there is an observable trend to streaming first and personal music library as an afterthought.
I get that, but the music in my personal library is still my preference.
