Hi, I have a large personal library of vinyl records, tapes, cds, and digital recordings. I also have a ton of books and a cat. I’ve dabbled as an audio enthusiast my whole life. In recent years I have been restoring vintage 70s stereo receivers, turntables, and speakers. I’ve integrated vintage stereo elements with modern digital audio sources and gear. For my Roon setup I am using an Intel 10i5FNH NUC running Roon ROCK. I use a Raspberry Pi 4 with a HifiBerry DAC2 HD hat as a Roon bridge. In addition, I use my Mac Pro as a Roon audio device with USB audio output to an S.M.S.L. SU-9 DAC with full MQA unfolding. The output of the SU-9 DAC is split to several wired sources including restored Pioneer SX-850 and Marantz 2230 receivers. Other Roon endpoints include a Mac Mini with digital audio output to an optical input on a modern receiver and a Macbook Air with USB audio output to a Leaf Audio DAC feeding another restored Pioneer SX-850 receiver.
It’s fun integrating modern hi-res digital audio with vintage 70s stereo gear and then managing and distributing that audio throughout my home with Roon. Thanks!
