"48k" DSD Rates?

please add this

I have some files which is in 48k and it is disappointing that they cannot be played in Roon. Please speed up the accommodation of 48k DSD in Roon.

To be very precise about what’s being asked for here, Roon currently scans, imports, and plays DSF and DFF files containing DSD streams encoded at the following frequencies, that are multiples of 44.1 kHz:

  • 2.8224 MHz, DSD64 or DSD
  • 5.6448 MHz, DSD128
  • 11.2896 MHz, DSD256
  • 22.5792 MHz, DSD512.

However many DACs can play DSD streams that are multiples of 48 kHz. Tools like PGGB now produce DSF files with these streams.

The feature requests that Roon scan, import and play these DSF and DFF files, containing these DSD streams:

  • 3.072 MHz, DSD64-48k
  • 6.144 MHz, DSD128-48k
  • 12.288 MHz, DSD256-48k
  • 24.576 MHz, DSD512-48k.

Yes. Please 1.5M PCM and DSD 1024, and please support 48!

Not so patiently waiting for this to happen. What’s the time frame?

I am now upsampling pcm in roon to 352/384 khz and let my lumin U2 mini player do the conversion to dsd 256 or 256x48 before being sent to my Gustard A26 DAC. Sounds really better for 48 khz based PCM !

So again the question when will Roon do the “proper” power 2 upsampling to DSD ?
