No, I think you are talking about DSM7 not DSM6 installation…
Hmmm - ok - could be.
There is a text file called RoonOnNAS.log.txt in your Roon database directory. Do you have a line similar to the one that looks like the one in bold?

Disclaimer: these instructions are for DSM 7 but they should be similar in DSM6.
-
Go into your Control Panel on DSM and find the Shared folder for your Roon database.
-
Hit the Edit button.
-
Go to the Permissions tab.
-
There is a dropdown whose default is “Local users” - switch it to “System internal user”
-
Scroll down to RoonServer and make sure it looks like this:
- Press Save.
No RoonServer user in “System internal user” for DSM6. I think it’s a DSM7 Roon feature.
At this point, I recommend reaching out to RoonOnNAS author @crieke . I am sorry that I have run out of ideas. I really want to help.
Thanks a lot for your ideas and support!
I’ll write a PM to Crieke… and if we’ll find a solution I’ll write here…
For local AAC files you may try “.m4a” as file name extension. That’s what I have when converting to AAC using dBpoweramp.
