Achieving Multichannel with NAD M10 V2

Hi everyone, a question for everyone who uses Roon on M10 V2.

NAD advertises V2 this as “multi-channel” hub capable of 4.1 or 4.2 multi-channel. (see attached)

But when I set up the device in Roon, it is NOT recognized as multi-channel device, so I have to choose a multi-channel mapping method. See screenshot.

Is there something wrong with Roon or M10 V2 doesn’t really have multi-channel?

It’s only multichannel for video content via HDMI not BluOS. BluOS does not support multichannel it’s purely 2 channel. This is how it’s designed nothing wrong just never been made to support multichannel playback.

Thanks for offering an explanation.

If this is true, then there is something seriously wrong with NAD’s marketing. There is no where on their website stating multi-channel is not supported by BluOS. In fact, as I showed in my screenshot above, the phrases such as “M10 V2 adds Dolby Digital surround-sound decoding” and “hub of a 4.1 or 4.2-channel Dolby Digitial surround setup” just reinforce its support.

I bought the amp based on its misleading marketing essentially about multi-channel which would work well with Roon. This is not the first misleading things that they get found out about so far. There is a big thread on its its forum about Dirac Live supporting the surround channels but in reality it doesn’t.
