I’ve been listening to the Great 78 stream from the Internet Archive via Mastodon. That is, on my Mastodon account, I “follow” the Great 78 project, and two or three of the recordings pop up in my feed every hour.
Then I came across this article from Ars Technica, explaining how Mastodon works, and started thinking it would be cool to have a Roon extension which would publish what I’m listening to with Roon, and also catch posts from others (and join them to a playlist, perhaps?).
Anyone working on something like that? Joining the Rooniverse to the Fediverse?
I don’t know if this is legal in Europe as you would probably send personal data (IP) to a server outside the EU.
I expect some layers will find out and charge you as they recently did with Google fonts.
I hate them

Well, the Mastodon center is Germany, so I suspect whatever needs to be worked out has been.
I was thinking it might be interesting for synchronized listening, where two or more Roon subscribers could both be listening to the same thing at the same time.
