I have access to high def scans of whatever album I want
Currently the only way i can figure out how to get these images into Roon is the have a folder with the music files and add the artwork to that folder.
What I want to do is just add the images to a streamed tidal version of the album, so I dont have to also have the music files taking up space on my hard drive.
This doesn’t seem possible right now, is it? Adding it to my library and then hitting edit, edit album art, add artwork only lets you drag and drop a single image at a time so that seems like a dead end
It would be much better to be able to perpetually link scans with an album regardless of a specific file so they show up under ‘images’ on the right side
It’s not like they’re constantly changing tidal files anyway though…
Kinda doesn’t make sense the way it is right now where in order to have your images show up you need an actual folder with the .flacs or .mp3s
No you just need the album added to your library and add to it any image from a url or local it doesn’t need to be in any folder or local to your machine.
Here’s one I just added a link to an image from Roons forum it’s not local on my network. Just add it go to edit metadata and add away images.
However as been pointed out it’s not much point. Roon links this to the current version resident in your library that points to a specific Tidal id. If that album is removed or changed and the id changes you loose any edits. Nothing can be done about this as each verision of an album has a unique id.
