Adding a second iPad controller causing problems?

I own two iPads each configured as remotes. I recently set up the older one as a dedicated remote that is kept and charged in my music room. The other is my working iPad with my apps, including the Roon remote app. I am experiencing intermittent server connection problems with the older iPad.

Is there a known problem with connecting two iPads as Roon controllers in a single system/server? Or is it likely that the older iPad - still supported by Apple - is just too old?

Thanks!

I use two always on, always connected iPad controllers with no issues. One is in my listening room and one in our sunroom. The older is an iPad Mini 6 and the newer is an iPad 10. Both are connected to a Nucleus.

EDIT: I would try reinstalling the Roon app.

You can connect as many remotes as you like, and two iPads are not a problem

I use an iPad Air M3, an Android 15 tablet, Roon remote on my Mac and Roon remote on a Windows PC. All simultaneously without any problems.

Thanks. I have reset the older one, downloaded a clean app, and connected the iPad to my server. I will test it out once my Broncos are finished with NE!

Also check that the older iPad is on the same latest firmware version as the newer one.
I can’t see why it would not be but one never knows.

Done, thanks.

Fixed it wth a reset and new app software. Thanks to all!
