Adding or removing items from my Roon internal hard drive

I’d like to know the best way to add or remove music files on my internal drive installed in Nucleus. This functionality does not appear available inside the Roon software.

Is it done within the hard disk folder structure at the OS level? Are there any issues with indexing? is scanning needed to maintain the integrity of the drive contents?

It is available through Roon but on a full size tablet or PC, the edit and delete album function is not available on a smaller handheld device like a phone being used as a Remote.
So you select the album you wish to remove, edit and I think the last option on the drop down is delete.
Be warned it is final, no recovery after that action.

Thanks! I see the delete now. What if i have a stand alone music file on my mac desktop and I want to add it to my hard drive?

Can i drag it in there or is there another way to add it? Can I create and remove folders there as well?

@Howard_Sambol, the Nucleus online user guide explains some options for getting music onto a Nucleus either on its internal drive (if a drive is installed) or through other methods:

I have a 4 TB internal SSD installed and it is properly formatted. I can access it in my mac hard drive structure and I can see the folders, subfolders in my Roon software.

The only way so far i see for adding files is on my main hard disk in the mac Finder window. No way in Roon software. It would be nice to be able to add to it in Roon

Can you transfer your Mac music files to your Nucleus’ 4TB internal storage drive via the SMB instructions in the posted link? Is the 4 TB SSD drive showing as Internal Storage or is it connected as the Roon Database drive?

My 4 TB drive is showing in my mac folder structure and i can drag music files into it in the same way any file can be dragged into a folder. Will Roon then recognize these as music files and play them if selected and can i add them to playlists, etc?

Yes once your library has synced with the new music which depending on your settings is sometimes instant, or within an hour max normally.
Although you can also “force rescan” to make new added items appear right away too.
