Hi, Airplay used to work on my Raspberry Pi 4, but after an update last year, it stopped producing sound. I have the latest version of Ropieee installed and have tried rebooting, refreshing, and resetting, but none of these steps resolved the issue.

Are you able to browse for the device? Are you able to play audio (but with no sound)?
The ropieee shows as an available Airplay device, but when I try to play either with music thru roon or by using Apple Music or Tidal, no sounds is produced. The UI interface in my iPad or iPhone shows like music is being playing, but no sound whatsoever.
I have tried rebooting/resetting/reflashing the Raspberry and power toggling my ifi dac, also reseting the iPhone/iPad and still no sound. As I mentioned before, the raspberry was working before until one of the updates last year.

Ok… as you are using software volume control: are you sure that’s not the problem?
The Hardware Volume Control option is greyed out (Not available). I even tried the NONE volume control and that did not make a difference either.
Any idea of what else can I try? Í´d appreciate the feedback.
Do you get sound if you use Roon Bridge or Squeezelite?
Thanks for the suggestion. but my raspberry PI 4 only has ropieee installed so no Roon Bridge. I don’t have the ability try Squeezelite. I don’t know what else to try to get Airplay to work.
If you’re running with the latest Ropieee from here you will have the capability of Roon Bridge and Squeezelite.
If you’re Running Roon Server you can playback to all three.
That’s not correct. Roon Bridge is installed and activated by default.
If you are a Roon user I suggest you use Roon natively (thus Roon Bridge) and don’t use Airplay.

I agree, I misunderstood the question. I do use Roon Bridge with no issues with Ropieee. The problem occurs only when I try to use Airplay to send audio from Apple Music, Tidal, etc. There is no sound thru Airplay.
