All of a sudden, "Arc only available on your network"

For some reason, lately, I’ve been having issues with getting Roon Arc to connect.

I tried making some basic on-off-on maneuvers with my router settings that I’ve seen suggested in other threads but to no avail.

Here is a screen shot of what I’m getting:

What does the error message in Settings > Roon ARC say?

In the main Roon app?

Now it seems to be “Syncing with Roon Core for the “first” time…” and the syncing process has been going on for at least the last 5 minutes.

Yes that’s what I meant.

Are you on wifi with ARC now? Syncing can take a bit, especially via cell network and depending on library size

Ok, now it’s working…but I’ve been through this process so many times that it’s getting tiresome.

I’m guessing that my tomorrow morning, I’ll be back to not being able connect to Roon Core via Arc.

This was just the first time that I decided to report it.

By the way you may want to remove your email address from that screenshot

I was on cellular but on 5G UW…what helped was opening and closing Arc on my iPhone multiple times.

Let’s be honest…software shouldn’t be such a hassle.

Good idea. Thanks. Fixed.

5G doesn’t necessarily mean that bandwidth and latency are good. Yeah, I know it’s a hassle for many and it was for me in the past as well. And maybe it was released too soon. The last few months have been fine for me though

What Apple Music, Qobuz, etc. lack in metadata, crossfeed, equalization, etc…they make up in “just works.”

For me, Arc was the main selling point in signing up for Roon and the idea of hoping my music will play today when I’m on the go isn’t an incentive to continue. I’m just annoyed I spent $500 on my Nuc setup…I can imagine how people who purchased a Nucleus feel.

What can I say, I get it, but it seems to be working for me now - finally, it took long enough, but I’m glad

Hope it stays that way for you, because when it works…it’s great.

It can only get better, hopefully

Are you still having issues? If so, then you should post in the Support section, specifically the ARC Port Forwarding Help subsection.

ARC was a pain in the behind to setup. With help from some folks here I was able to get it running. It works flawlessly now. My only gripe with it is that it eats my iPhone’s battery for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Yeah, they came back this morning.
