Android phone as endpoint

What determines if my Samsung S22 Ultra phone shows up in my list of endpoints? Sometimes I just want to stream via Roon to my Technics AZ80 earbuds (which sound amazing, with LDAC enabled the soundstage is nearly as good as my Sennheiser HD600 cans, but I digress…) but sometimes the phone doesn’t show up as an endpoint when running Roon on my phone.

I also have an S22, not exactly sure what you are asking, but for me, if I open up Roon on my S22 and start playing some music, it will show up on my Windows Roon in the device list and will show music playing, I can also control it from my windows Roon, if I select it’s zone.

To make it work this way, on your S22 you need to ensure you have Private Zone turned off in the Roon AUDIO config for your S22.

Also if your phone does not have Roon active, it wont show up on my windows Roon.

Thanks! The phone is not configured as a private zone. When I start Roon it’s set to play on whatever was the most recent endpoint, and if I just start playing it goes to that endpoint. Formerly the phone was listed as an endpoint but no longer.

I don’t see your S22 in our zone list, on mine, I have my S22, my S6 android tablet and my windows zone, and all can control each other, you may want to open a problem ticket as something does not look right.

Yeah, thought I’d see if other users have encountered this first. It appears the phone was somehow disabled (pretty sure I didn’t do this manually), when I brought up the Audio settings on my Windows machine and enabled the phone there, it now shows up in my endpoint list as expected. Thanks again!
