Android version 8 and Roon 1442

I have 2 Samsung phones that are identical. S7 edge. They both run the factory OS Android 8. Somehow one has Roon 2 1442 installed on even though its not Android 9.
And I cant upgrade the other one. I do not recall doing a sideload of the apk. Is there anyway I can get the second one to use the Roon 2 apk’s? See screenshot

I cant do an update via the play store since the android version is not 9

But if I have roon open to that incompatible versions screen I can still use it as an end point and control it via a different device.

Neither Roon Labs nor the Google app store provide previous versions of apps. If you try and use an internet search engine you may find a link to an older apk eventually, maybe another user can help you with a link.

Edit: Maybe you can update the phones directly (tell the phone with 1442 to install that version on the other phone) somehow.

The reason that the two phones have different versions is that one was updated in the period when the 1442 build was available but the other wasn’t. Now that the released version is at build 1470 and is not compatible with Android 8, and consequently neither phone can be updated from the version that they are currently running.

Is there a link to download the old apk file? Everything I am finding is an xapk file which needs a separate application installer.

You might be able to use an apk extractor on the one with the newer build and then get off and installed on the other. It’s how I used to copy aps not available for my device.
