Any approach to play .iso file via Roon

Appreciate if some one could advise approaches to play local .iso audio files via Roon?

Use iso2dsd to convert them.

They aren’t supported you need to convert them, hence the link above.

Yes, I have a ton of them to convert, I think about 1,500, I have waiting years for Roon to convert them in their software. JRiver plays them beautifully but I don’t like their program compared to Roon which I signed up for the first week it came out. Very difficult interface compared to Roon. I am going to purchase this software: samplerateconverter.com/iso-converter/iso-dsf-converter. I believe there are some issues with iso2dsd based on my research but it is free.

I can recommend xrecode ( https://xrecode.com/ ). It’s 10 EUR/ 15 USD.

It converts iso to dsf (or rather extract), but it can convert/extract much more.

Thank you, I just saw this. I will check it out.

The software will convert the ISO files to DSD 64, not anything higher, in about ten seconds per album.

However, it does not carry over the album folder and put all if the tracks in it. You end up with a bunch of tracks. So this okay for someone who only has a few ISO files but not me as I have about 2,000.

If you’re talking about xrecode, then there is an option to extract to the sourcefolder somewhere in the interface (never tried it though).

I think xrecode will extract tot dsd128 if the source iso-file is dsd128. Can’t be sure cause I haven’t got any dsd128.

I checked with the Administrator and he said it only created the files. However I will look based on your info.

You may be correct on your second point. I don’t know what type of file the ISO was. I was assuming that it could create files with better samples rates like the software that I will be purchasing. Bad assumption on my part.
