Did you know Roon Arc allows you to download your music to your offline device?
Yes but it also has habit of making them unavailable on app updates rendering them useless. Not sure what that has to do with my post and ARC is rubbish without internet back to core as you can’t search or get decent artwork.
But, since we’re talking about digital data here, that stuff doesn’t make any difference at all, no matter how much of it there is. Unless that stuff is corrupting the digital data, in which case your music doesn’t play at all, dropouts etc. It doesn’t sound “different”, let alone better.
Do you hear people saying that they only ever run their web browser software directly from CD, as opposed to downloading a new version of the browser from the internet, because it “works better”?. That sounds silly, but since it’s digital data, just like the music, it’s exactly the same.
I’m sure there are differences between versions of an album on SACD, and on the music services accessed via Roon, but that’s likely because they are different versions of the same album, not because of Roon.
