I am currently feeding the X1 directly into the Rei and wanted to explore pre-amp options. The Westminsterlab Quest is not within my budget since the 40% yen devaluation makes it cost prohibitive in Japan for me. My previous pre-amp (Luxman C900u) was good but not great as a combo so am wondering if the synergy between Lumin products will make that difference.

Are you asking about downgrading from X1 to P1? This way you’ll gain some digital and analog inputs.
Or you want to insert an active preamp between the X1 and the amp? P1 is not meant for that.
Thank you Peter! Was exploring the second and thank you for clarifying. So my options now after your comment is to downgrade or try a non-lumin passive pre-amp or wait till the quest becomes more reasonably priced. Ideally I would try the P1 at home but that is not possible. Thank you!
