Anyone using arc successfully in a Tesla?

About to take delivery of a Tesla and wondering if anyone has has ARC running on the car system or if I need to use BT from my phone.

In my Tesla Y it works fine (Bluetooth), but there are mismatch between albumcover showing and track playing. It’s always one behind.

Tidal/Spotify/Youtube are the built in music apps that you can use without BT

I looked into this today. just bought my tesla so I haven’t tried it yet

I understand that there are two problems with BT in a tesla.

  • first there used to be a significant delay between across BT making the controls very laggy. Some report this has been fixed with the latest tesla sw release.
  • second (and probably worse) the BT uses AAC 320kbps lossy codec. Apparently it doesn’t have LDAC codec (regarded as superior). If you use roon you probably value sound quality so…

There may be a sw/hw workaround using a product called tesla android. [https://teslaandroid.com/].

Perhaps when CarPlay comes as it’s rumored to be - Android doesn’t help me much. Still with tidal onboard and Spotify for the wife to be kept happy I guess it’s not going to be the end of the world.

This is one of the few reasons why I really hope Tesla to integrate CarPlay.

Yes, not working great in my Model Y. There is also a lag in the cover display and song playing when I use BT and ARC.

None of these issues with Plexamp and BT.

I use Qobuz - don’t particularly want to change my home streaming just to get good fidelity music in my car. Given how unique Tesla’s design philosophy is it seems unlikely they will allow carplay and the android alternative.

The hope I had for the TeslaAndroid product is running android arc on it, taking the place of carplay arc. TeslaAndriod claims they can send high res audio over wifi to the tesla.

TeslaAndroid also claims they can run carplay software. You access it from the Tesla car browser interface. I don’t know about running ios arc in the teslaandroid carplay software.
