I am on my third Pixel Pro Fold (11 Pro Fold), and I know people that have had the Samsung fold devices for 7 or 8 generations.
The technology works great and is by now mostly reliable and more rugged. Cases seem to be a must, but it works great for Roon and when you need a bigger screen, just open it up.
I have already had a couple of iPhone owning friends contact me to say they are tempted to upgrade.

It is interesting to note that in the UK, the new phones use Apple’s new C2 modem instead of Qualcomm parts. In the US, Apple seems to be sticking with Qualcomm for the ProMax according to reports.

Does that mean we are being used as a test bed for future changes just as Apple used the US market to test esim only devices 
Some sites are reporting it’s only the Pro Max that has the Qualcomm chip, and the standard Pro and Duo may both use Apple’s C2.
eSIM has become standard, I don’t recall the last time I had the legacy physical SIM card.
It is interesting that Duo is missing some features compared to what the iPhone 18 Pro has, you might want to google iPhone Duo is Missing These 10 iPhone 18 Pro Features.

Not soon because I got the 17 Pro Max last year and it will last a good while. But I like the idea of the large screen and being able to use the Apple pencil with it.
I’m hoping there are no hardware issues especially with the hinge (seems unlikely), but I’d also wait for longer term reviews.

Reminds me of the MS Surface Duo, except that Duo’s couldn’t span Roon across the split screens, one of the main reasons I didn’t keep that Duo.

Alas, poor Surface Duo - I knew thee well…
And Roon does span Roon across the split screen - but it changes the orientation to Portrait mode, so you have to turn the Duo 90° (then the split is horizontal)…

I tried the Surface Duo, not the Duo 2.
BTW, the screenshot is not from either Surface Duo or Duo 2, correct? This one has no gap in the middle while both versions of Surface Duo have a gap that separate it into two screens.
Anyway, I used to use Google Nexus 7 gen 2 to room Roon Remote. It was great until it got too old. I also used Fire HD 8 Plus to run Roon Remote with decent results.

The screenshot IS from my Surface Duo 2 - I just made it this morning. And of course there’s no gap in the screenshot - the display simply spans two physical screens on the Duo.

Cool! Wish I tried the Duo 2! Unfortunately, MS also abandoned it.
As to the Apple Duo, like the Galaxy folds, the prices are astronomical for phones. But it surely is nice to have one.
