Look archaic?
Ok but what does it SOUND like compared to Qobuz 192/24 files?
Apple is rolling out support for 24/192 later this year for external DACs ā proof
Question is ā will Roon be able to support it, knowing the fact how strict Apple is with their ecosystem.
Unless, they enforce some hardcore Apple DSP it should either sound the same, either better, considering how good Apple is with developing itās compress-friendly containers - such as h.265 - it should be jab in a stomach
Using a MHDT Orchid DAC.I believe Iām Limited to 16/44
I had an Orchid DAC and pretty sure it passed 192/24 over coax input that I was using.
Using USB. I believe the Orchid can read 192/24, but process it down ri 16/44?
So you have listened to Spotify lossless or are you talking about the app ?
In terms of interface, right?
Because sound if lossless should be identical.
Yes interface. Light years ahead.
@Larry_Gelman What beta version of iOS is this?
Are you saying the Apple Music app in iOS 14.7 gets a UI facelift ?
Music has a great interface both on iOS and Mac.
Now if only Roon would get Apple integrated, that would be ideal!
Well they must have had a ground up redesign of their interface then, because it REALLY sucks.
I donāt see a proof of 24/192 being released later this year.
It should be available from start like all other sampling rates, or am I missing something?
Iām sure we will all know a lot more after WWDC21 - starting with an Apple Keynote broadcasting from Apple Park on June 7 at 10 a.m. PDT, which is just next Monday!
And when this happens, it would be the day Apple buys Roon.
Roon is a rounding error for Apple.
Will never happen as this audiophile niche most probably is of no financial or strategic interest for Apple. Sadly.
Being already invested in their ecosystem having additional seamless Roon integration and lossless music would simply be perfect.
Actually, I wouldnāt say it will never happen. Apple has always a more music-centric company than any other tech company from the very beginning so the possibility will always there.
If Roon allowed Apple to offer something different to their competitors, then they would consider purchasing Roon. Presumably, we are all here because Roon DO offer something different⦠soā¦
How many of you used (or had even heard of) Siri before Apple purchased the eponymously titled company that developed it?
It seems that a special event about Spatial Audio will be streamed tomorrow after the WWDC:
And when this happens, it would be the day Apple buys Roon.
Not necessarily. Example, you can play Apple Music through Sonos.
Itās not as if Apple is not open to the idea of other players being able to play AppleMusic.
