Apple Music High Res

With our internet, where upload struggles to get out of dail-up territory most of the day, I reckon it would take 5 years to up load my library to iCloud :scream:. Yet another reason why Apple Music is a joke.

But would you really need to upload your entire library? There’s that much of a gap with available music on Apple Music , for you?

I’ve just uploaded the stuff missing.

Nice to have everything, on-the-go !

That means broadband internet where you live is a joke, not Apple Music

It was calm weather back then, compared to last year which I got on board. But, I may feel the same way in five to six years.
On the other hand, otosclerosis may get me sooner, we’ll see…

The only caveat with Spotify Connect is missing multi room.

Just wanting to see if I understand this correctly
I should be able to just hook up my ipad mini4 directly to the usb input of my ML585 inbuilt DAC and stream hires( if available) Apple Music.
Or even my Motorola Android phone, same connection.
At least the ML should report what actual bit rate is occurring

Correct, using:

Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter - Apple

A little less straight forward, so do it with the iPad

With Android you’ll need an OTG cable and USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP) app. And hope it works.

That’s about what I thought.
I already have the iPad camera adapter cable dongle so no reason not to sign up for the 3 month free trial IMHO.

Wait till June, when it launches to start trial?

Although I read it is launching with ~20M tracks , with full catalogue lossless by end of year.

Yes of course…
That’s what I meant on start date but with a 3 month free trial I cannot see a downside to at least trying it out.

However I may just hold fire a short while and see how the launch goes and other people’s experience with it first😁

Or wait till Oct to start the trial, when new iOS update comes.

Apple Music UI/features usually gets its biggest updates that time every year.

If I trusted the feedback of others for Roon 1.8 release, I would never have updated lol.

Everybody has such varied expectations, it’s best to just give it a crack yourself.

This can’t possibly be true. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have made this post, continuing the thread instead of just dropping it, which is out of context and has nothing to do with the topic, as you stated. Your post contradicts the very spirit of its words. Feel free to let it go. Take care.

My only concern there would be that by that time Apple may have dropped the 3 months free trial.
Just have to wait and see.

It’s not like I am unhappy with Roon or my present Qobuz service, I’m one of the lucky ones for whom it all just works…lol.

But at the pace modern technology moves it would be crazy not to consider new services etc.
What is not possible today will be child’s play and commonplace in 2 years time.

That’s a fair concern but I think the 3 month trial has been around forever… it’s stock standard. Can’t see it disappearing with this major new feature coming.

Using the webapi that Amazon Alexa uses and a full blown integration with a different UI and all the stuff Roon does is another thing entirely. Chalk and Cheese. Can you browse your Apple Music library via Alexa?

Will I be able to listen to Apple Music lossless using my Windows PC?

Wondering the same thing. Poking around their site, it looks like iTunes for Windows is their Apple Music solution for PC. Not clear if it will be updated for lossless. Presumably it will.

I bet it doesn’t have exclusive mode on Windows.
