ARC 1.70 Build 371 Crashes on SONY NW-WM1AM2

Connected Audio Devices

  • Device: SONY NW-WM1AM2
  • Connection Type: Roon ARC 1.70 Build 371 (Early Access APK)

Description of Issue

  • Problem: On my SONY NW-WM1AM2, Roon ARC 1.70 Build 371 crashes immediately upon launch. The app is completely unusable.
  • Steps Taken: Downloaded and installed the latest APK, rebooted the device, no system modifications.

I moved this to Early Access so that Roon staff sees it. (The Roon Software Discussion category is not being monitored by Roon staff).

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling?

Hi, @CHIU_YING_LIN, sorry for the late response here.

Could you please provide a bit more data about the issue you are having? Are you using any DACs when this is happening? Is there a way to get out of this state, like, for example when you start from scratch (remove the app and reinstall it)?

Thanks!

Ivan

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your reply.

I just bought a brand new Sony NW-WM1AM2, and after installing Roon ARC from the Google Play Store, the app crashes immediately upon launch.

I tried the following steps but the issue remains:

Uninstalled the app, rebooted the device, and reinstalled from the Play Store → still crashes.

Installed the latest Roon ARC 1.70 (Build 371) APK manually → still crashes right after opening.

I also captured a logcat crash report, and the main error is:

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: dlopen failed: library “libssl.so” not found

No external DACs are connected. The issue happens even on a fresh, factory-reset device.

I’ve attached the arc_crash.txt log file for your reference.

Thanks for looking into this!

Understood, thank you for the response!

It looks like the file failed to upload, could you please upload the arc_crash.txt file here, I will take a look at it.

Thanks!

Ivan
